Weekend Round Up- 29th September

01/10/18 | Jacob Potter

Jacob reviews the weekend's action as Tilehurst move 3 points clear, whilst their are some shock results elsewhere in the league!

Tilehurst Albion maintained their 100% record with a eye-opening 3-1 win away to YMCA Newbury. Harvey Owen was in prolific form as he netted a hat-trick to see Tilehurst move three points clear at the top.

Norreys FC came from behind twice as they beat Brookside St Laurence 4-3 to get their first win of the season. Jonny Hare, Callum Makepeace and Luke Wheeler were all on target for the away side but a stunning strike from Norreys' Adam Toft, a Shaun Gray penalty and a brace from Jacob Potter saw Norreys take a deserved three points.

Greyfriars remain 2nd in the table after they narrowly overcame Wycliffe Wanderers 3-2. Goals from Neal Healy and Luke Simmonds for Wycliffe were answered by Mark Massey, Neil Hallet and Steve Downes to see Greyfriars continue their winning start to the season.

Barkham Athletic are also keeping the pressure on the top 2 as they beat West Reading 2-1. Goals from Dom Howard and Matt Armstrong proved to be enough for last season's league winners. Joe Henry was on target for West Reading who remain without a win this season.

YMCA United continue their stunning start to the season as they stunned Bethel United. YMCA ran out 3-2 winners with goals from Alex Storey, Tom Young and Kieran McClair were enough to see the home side rise to 4th in the table.

Elsewhere, Wycliffe United stunned new boys Beacon Church by winning 3-1 to get their first win of the season. Lewis Day was on target for Beacon who fall to 5th in the table.
